There is a new architectural style emerging in San Miguel de Allende — and it’s really not surprising. Given the wide variety of cultures represented by the people moving here to live, together with the rich historical depth of San Miguel, it is only natural that the quality of the architecture has come to reflect these different influences. Colonial and hacienda styles, North American, modern, and contemporary architecture have all blended together, resulting in beautiful properties that combine the solidity of Spanish colonial design, the colors and textures of Mexico, the stonework that is the essence of building here, and, above all, the sensibilities of different cultures. A touch of Asian influence in the doors and cabinetry, open modern-style layouts, and the indoor/outdoor atmosphere inspired by our excellent climate.

Recently, one architect has refined her style to invite a closer relationship with nature — in the way light enters the home, in the way a terrace can reveal different views, and in the way a garden can surround the living spaces. A fresh inner peace is encouraged through a careful choice of color palette, with a harmonious balance of proportions and dimensions. But above all, every detail is carefully added to create a property that is tranquil yet flowing with energy; peaceful yet surrounded by beauty; and offering a variety of living spaces for every need.
